FileHutch

Pricing

No seats. No credits. Bring your own bucket on every plan, or use managed storage when you want the easy button.

You pay your storage provider directly. FileHutch charges for the file infrastructure above it.

Bring your own R2, S3 or B2 bucket on any plan, including Free. You pay your storage provider directly for those bytes and they never count against the allowance below — FileHutch charges for the file layer above it, not for the disk.

The overage line applies to FileHutch-managed storage only, and only if you turn it on. Bytes in your own bucket are billed by R2, S3 or B2 and are not counted here.

You are paying for the file layer
Stable file IDs, upload policies, private delivery, named transforms, metadata, audit history and the SDKs. Storage is interchangeable infrastructure underneath it, and on your own bucket it is not ours to sell you.
Limits, not surprise bills
Reach your managed storage allowance and uploads to managed storage stop. Nothing is billed for going over because you cannot go over. If you would rather keep accepting them, turn on per-GB managed storage overages and set the most you are willing to spend in a period. Off until you ask for it, and never applied to your own bucket.
Leaving is a supported path
Managed customers get a documented export to their own bucket. Your application references file IDs, so moving does not touch your code.

Questions people actually ask

What happens when I hit my storage allowance?
Uploads stop and everything already stored keeps working — delivery, signed URLs and transforms are unaffected. You are never billed for going over, because you cannot go over unless you turn overages on yourself.
What counts as a transform?
Each distinct crop of each image, once a month: an avatar requested ten thousand times is one. Only transforms on managed storage count; on your own R2 your Cloudflare zone renders them and bills you directly. Past the allowance, new crops serve the original image until you turn overages on, and every crop already made keeps working.
Do you charge for bandwidth?
No. Delivery is a redirect to the bucket, so the bytes never pass through us and we have nothing to meter. On managed storage that bucket is Cloudflare R2, where egress is free. On your own S3 bucket, egress is on your AWS bill exactly as it is today.
Is bring-your-own-bucket really on the free plan?
Yes. It is the feature that makes leaving possible, so putting it behind a paywall would defeat the point of having it.
How many people can be on my team?
As many as you like, on the plans that include team access. Teammates are not billed per head — the plan either allows a team or it does not.
Can I move from managed storage to my own bucket later?
Yes, and it is a documented path rather than a support ticket. Every file ID survives the move, so your application does not change.
What counts as a project?
One application, with its own keys, policies and bucket. Staging and production are environments inside a project, not separate projects.
Do you offer annual billing or a discount for open source?
Not yet on annual. For open source and non-profits, write to us on the contact page and describe the project — the answer is usually yes.

Start on Free and move up when the storage says so.

2 GB, one project, your own bucket if you want it. No card.
